Supported adapters
The app has two connection modes. You choose one in Settings.
- Full speed: talks to the adapter's Realtek chip directly. The fastest mode, for Realtek adapters only.
- Compatible: uses the standard USB Ethernet mode that most adapters have. Works more widely, a bit slower.
If you choose Full speed and the adapter can't use it, the app switches to Compatible by itself and tells you in Settings.
Tested
| Adapter | Chip | Full speed | Compatible | Measured |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| TP-Link UE300 | Realtek RTL8153 | Works | Works | About 550 to 800 Mbps (several downloads at once) |
Tested on a Philips OLED819 with Android TV 14.
Likely to work
| Adapter type | Mode | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Other gigabit adapters with a Realtek RTL8153 chip | Full speed if the chip revision matches, otherwise Compatible | Not tested yet |
| Adapters that offer the standard USB Ethernet mode (CDC-ECM) | Compatible | Not tested yet |
Support for more adapters (newer Realtek chips, ASIX and others) is planned. If you try an adapter not listed here, please report how it went (see Reporting a problem).
What you need
- A free USB port on the TV (USB 3 gives the best speed).
- A network cable from the adapter to your router.
